Sunset at El Yaque Beach, Margarita Island
Why Margarita Island · Why now

A Caribbean island, reopening to the world.

Direct flights are returning, hotels are filling up, and the region's best-known beach markets show what a mature island destination can become. Here is the case for owning a piece of it at IKIGAI 27.

The reopening

Margarita is getting back on the map.

For decades, Margarita drew visitors from Canada, Europe and across Latin America. In 2026, the routes are coming back: local authorities report routes to Spain, Portugal and Panama, a permanent direct link with Trinidad, and direct flights from Colombia that began in June and are set to expand in September.

The tourism ministry is also in talks with Canadian operators such as Sunwing Vacations — a market that once sent hundreds of thousands of visitors to the island — and charter flights from Poland are planned for November 2026.

Buying at presale means entering while this recovery is still at its early stage.

Benchmarks

Learn from the islands that got there first.

Aruba and the Dominican Republic (with Punta Cana as its main gateway) show what a mature Caribbean beach market looks like. They are not forecasts for Margarita, but they show what visitors are willing to spend when the destination delivers.

Aruba~180 km²~1.5 million stay-over visitors (2025), plus ~1 million cruise passengers~US$3.06 billion per year (2025)

Aruba is about one-fifth of Margarita's size and takes in roughly US$3 billion a year from visitors. What drives results is positioning, connectivity and quality, not acreage.

Niche beats volume

Holbox, Mexico, built a record-occupancy destination around boutique hotels and nature, with about half a million visitors a year. A signature experience gives an island an identity.

Connectivity is everything

Punta Cana's airport was on track for more than 11 million passengers in 2025. Margarita already has an international airport, and airlines are returning to it.

Comfort protects value

In every market, buyers pay for reliable water, power and build quality. IKIGAI 27 includes an underground water tank, plus a private parking space and a storage room for every unit.

A price reference

What an apartment like this costs elsewhere.

In Aruba's Palm Beach corridor, local brokers list near-beach condos at roughly US$4,000 to US$6,500 per m² (July 2026), and prime beachfront units at about US$6,500 to US$8,600 per m².

≈ US$340,000 – 550,000

That is the range for a two-bedroom of about 85 m² near the beach in Aruba, before closing costs of 6.5% to 8%.

IKIGAI 27 offers 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartments of about 85 m² steps from El Yaque Beach. Ask for the presale price and payment plan, and compare.
